Latest News2011 China-Thailand ReportDear Ministry Partners, God is on the move across China! As we look back upon our trip (Jan. 6 - 27), we are truly thankful for an incredibly fruitful time. The missionaries were deeply impacted by the Holy Spirit! We were grateful to the Lord for His grace upon us personally. Even the jet-lag worked in our favour as we awakened at 5:00 am every morning to seek the Lord prior to the start of our meetings! We are also thankful for the Lord's provision from our supporters, which covered all of the airfare and trip expenses! We conducted a Leadership Training School for indigenous missionaries in Beijing. After that, we flew to a city in Western China and spoke at another school, also for indigenous missionaries. Our ministry joined with a missionary organization (undisclosed due to security reasons) to conduct these schools. The testimonies at the end of each school were amazing and everyone glorified the Lord. Next, we flew to Bangkok, Thailand where we spoke at 2 seminars at a conference for missionaries with another missions organization (also undisclosed). Many made a public decision to pursue the Lord more fervently. As they responded, we saw many profoundly touched by the Holy Spirit. Also, at the conference, we had the opportunity to meet several regional leaders from China, who each oversee about 100 missionaries. Here are some testimony highlights from the missionaries: "I felt the power of the Holy Spirit come into me and this is a rare experience. I was deeply touched by the Holy Spirit and filled with His peace. Never before had I learned how to enter into God's rest. The Lord is calling us to be like a basin of still water, so His reflection can be seen in us. Now, in my ministry, I want to teach the people how to enter into God's rest. (this man pastors a church, oversees an medical project and does itinerant ministry in China) "My spiritual honeymoon with Jesus had passed. I felt weak, restless and I knew that I couldn't change myself. I knew about the Father's love rationally, but could not allow Him to touch that deep part of my heart. But through the teaching, I received His love deep in my heart. My earthly father loved me but we as Chinese do not know how to express love. My mom was too busy to spend time with me when I was a boy. After the preaching, I recalled these painful memories...the pain and unforgiveness were buried, deeply hidden. I didn't want to think about the pain, but then I realized I had to love my parents, understand them and forgive them." (assistant to overseer of missionaries) "I had terrible guilt about being a burden to my husband and missions team. Every day, I kept hearing a voice say to me, 'You are a burden. Leave the missions team. Leave your husband.' So I was planning on leaving my husband and the mission. But then through the teaching, the Lord revealed to me demonic lies. I rejected and destroyed all those lies. And then I heard Father God say, " I love you forever." I was crying, overwhelmed by God's loved. I felt my entire being was strengthened by the Holy Spirit inside." (a rural missionary who is raising a baby on the mission field) "I encountered the authentic anointing and touch of the Holy Spirit. This is something that I haven’t tasted during my past 60 years as a believer. The teachers are very responsible in their teaching. At the end of each message, they would lead us to have fellowship with the Holy Spirit, so that Jesus’ amazing power could be fully released." "I suffered from lumbar disc protrusion for more than 12 years. Before, I could not sit still without experiencing great pain. Walking was also difficult. During the corporate prayer, the pain was reduced significantly. Then I received prayers of healing from people. My entire body felt very warm at the time. I was healed completely right there! Not only did Jesus heal my back but He also healed me from the constant leg cramps." "I used to go to church and then forget about God the rest of the week. I used to be addicted to TV. But He has set me free from many bondages and now I will talk to God before I go to bed each evening. Now I communicate with Him while I am walking or doing house chores. I know that He is so near to me. God is so amazing! There is an indescribable sweetness in my heart." (one of the national missionary staff) "I was called forward and then people laid hands on me. When they prayed for me, my heart was filled with peace. I felt that all the fear was cast out, and then great assurance came in. Now I firmly believe the Heavenly Father’s love for me, and that the Lord Jesus’ kingdom has come in me. For the very first time in my life, I was completely filled by His love. I know God has a purpose for me. He is preparing me. I could identify lies from Satan I had believed, truly forgive others, and entrust my life to God. The journey at the school was engraved on this heart of a son who was lost. Praise the Lord! When I opened my heart, I could hear the Father’s voice wherever I turned." "When I was going home, I remembered that the Lord had given me a dream about people gathering around me to pray for me to receive the Kingdom of God. What happened to me at the school was exactly what happened in my dream!" "Though I was such an arrogant, hard-hearted person, my Lord Jesus was standing and knocking outside the door of my heart, eager to welcome me into His home, and to forgive all my sins and to give me His perfect love! He was waiting and knocking… until one day, I came to my senses and cared about that knocking. I wanted to know who is knocking at my door? I opened the door of my heart… Oh, the Light came in, and the darkness retreated. I was surrounded by His love. I finally realized the purpose of my being and living. On that day, Jan. 9th, 2011, it was my rebirth. But God didn’t just want me to simply be reborn. He is my Father who gave me life, nurtured me, and equipped me, so that I can be one of the members in the army of the Almighty. Hallelujah!" (boyfriend of one of the staff members) Several leaders have invited us back to conduct more training schools in China. Also, we have been invited by one of the missions organizations to come and train all of their regional overseers for China! For our next mission, we are planning on flying to Beijing, then to several other locations in China, then possibly on to Thailand and Taiwan, Lord willing. We are excited about the Lord’s favour opening up all these new doors into Asia and we will keep you posted on new developments! As you know, Asia is the world’s largest mission field. We believe that this is just the beginning of a long-term kingdom-investment in Asia. Thank you for believing in the vision, encouraging us and supporting our mission. This missionary trip was definitely a “team effort” and the fruit of our ministry is your fruit also! Rejoicing in the goodness of God, Scott & Hilary Follower's Mission, July 25, 2010On Sunday July 25th, 2010 we were blessed to minister at The Follower's Mission. Located in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada, this ministry reaches the poor and broken who live in the area. Some of the folks live in the nearby shelters and others sleep on park benches at night. Their harsh world gives no hope. But the Mission was packed and we sensed that the dear people were thirsty for the kindness of God. The Presence of the Lord was sweet that day, reaching the broken and lost. The Lord had Scott preach on how He redeemed the life of Joseph and many responded and prayed that the Sovereign Lord would redeem their own lives. The Lord's comfort, compassion and hope flowed powerfully into many hearts that day. The Director, Young Wha Kang is a godly woman who knows the urgency of the times and she constantly implores the people to come to Jesus for salvation and healing.
